Are you ready to start the year with the hottest e-sport tournament?
Electronic Sports League (ESL) One has returned to Malaysian mountain range as it will be hosted at Arena of Stars, Resort World Genting, Pahang for the second time this coming weekend (Jan 26 – Jan 28).
The three-day e-sport tournament will see 16 teams battling out their swords and spells in Dota2 to become champions and to win a prize pool worth RM1.5 million.
Among the 16 teams participating in the tournament, eight are the world’s top Dota 2 teams; NewBee, Virtus.pro, Team Secret, Fnatic, Mineski, Evil Geniuses, Vici Gaming and Dota2 defending world champion, Team Liquid.
Team Liquid had recently won The International 7 tournament where they received a cash prize of RM42.5 million.
At the same time, Team Liquid had won two Minor victories and a runner-up in a Major – setting them apart from the rest.
Also, the team consists of some of the highest in-game IQ players in the world where they could easily toy with their opponents with high-level strategies and impeccable late-game decision making.
Additionally, they have reached The International (TI) finals on several occasions as Team Liquid has the ability to easily cast fear upon their opponents.
Their cohesive ability to work as a team has shown results following their last TI run where they were turned the tide even at the brink of elimination.
So, if I were you, I would definitely place my bets and keep my attention on Team Liquid.
Meanwhile, in conjunction with the e-sport tournament, Red Bull Product of Europe (Red Bull) is once again the official energy drink for ESL Genting 2018.
The energy drink company is no stranger to the world of e-sports as it has been playing an active role in the industry by organising events such as Red Bull Battle Grounds, Red Bull Player One and Red Bull Kumite.
Additionally, Red Bull will be collaborating with Acer Predator to provide entertainment for the crowd with fun and interactive activities such as 1vs1 challenges with local DotA2 personalities and e-athletes.
To add more fun to the mix, there will be a virtual-reality experience and a huge screen to catch the live-stream of the tournament outside of the 6000-seat arena.
