It is finally here – the long awaited and rumoured Huawei Mate 20 Series has been unveiled.
The new flagship series consists of the Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20, Mate 20 X and Mate 20 RS (a collaboration with Porsche Design).
“Smartphones are an important entrance to the digital world. The HUAWEI Mate 20 Series is designed to be the best ‘mate’ of consumers, accompanying and empowering them to enjoy a richer, more fulfilled life with their higher intelligence, unparalleled battery lives and powerful camera performance,” said Huawei consumer business group CEO Richard Yu.
The entry level of the new flagship – the Mate 20 sports a 6.5-inch FullHD display while powered by a 4000mAh battery.
The Mate 20 Pro, however, has a 6.4-inch curved OLED 2K screen which runs on a 4200mAh battery where Huawei claims the device to be equipped with world’s first wireless “revere charging” feature which allows the it double as a power bank.
The Mate 20 X has a dispay screen of 7.2-inch with an 18.7:9 ratio and has all the capabilities of the Mate 20 Pro, except for the IP68 certification (water and dust resistance) and wireless charging capability.
The Mate 20 series are all running on Huawei’s latest 7nm 980 Kirin chipset which Huawei claims can recognize 4,500 images per minute and 20% faster than its predecessor.
In terms of its photography capabilities, the Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20X and the Mate 20 RS are equipped with a 40-megapixel wide-angle lens, 20-megapixel ultra-wide lens and an 8-megapixel lens with 3x zoom.
For the Mate 20, it has a 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens, 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 8-megapixel lens with 2x zoom.
